\ufeffI am devastated beyond belief to share the news that our beloved Chichi has left this world and gone to the other side.<\/span>

She was my ride or die since falling in love with each other in 2020. We were inseparable. <\/span>

A gift from our friend Rodrigo, she got me through lockdown. She kept me mentally sane and physically fit - we both LOVED to walk and run. Along Paseo de Montejo and then the beaches of chelem quickly became our preferred home. <\/span>

After giving up all hope that I would ever be a human mum, I settled with being a dog mum forever.<\/span>
I had her chipped to relocate with me to Barcelona.<\/span>
Then life had alternative plans. <\/span>
She and I were living at the beach for a full month before making our next move.<\/span>
She was the first to know I was pregnant and she was by my side every day whilst I was carrying my \u00a0little ladybug. She was my strength going into the unknown and retrospectively prepared me for motherhood. <\/span>

She was never good with children and honestly \u00a0I was worried that there would be some issues when I brought my baby back from NICU but , after prepping chichi with the clothes I had worn after visiting my premature baby in hospital, so she could smell my ladybug, when it was finally time to bring my baby home, chichi instantly fell into role of big sister.<\/span>

Don\u2019t get me wrong, it was definitely not love at first sight. <\/span><\/p>

There was a lot of adjusting and jealousy but ultimately, chichi became BFF to both humans and was the foundation of our family unit. She was the ultimate guard dog. She gave us unconditional love and completed our family - The Three Amigas.<\/span>

We had so many adventures together, laughed a lot, cried a lot. \u00a0With us, she was elevated from Yucatacen street dog, to the ultimate Yucatecsn princess. And we got elevated to a family of three. We loved her fiercely. Together we fell in love with the ocean and beach life. <\/span>

I owe our beach walks to knowing so many people and cultivating such great friendships in Yucatan. <\/span>

In hindsight, the journey leading up to motherhood was a test with Chichi. She had prepared me for the great unknown - loving a dog as much as I did, there\u2019s no way I could falter with the love for a little human. <\/span>

Thanks Chichi for everything. <\/span>

For all the memories. For all the swims, the sunsets, the chasing of pelicans, protecting us from EVERYTHING in the water, for chasing kayaks and windsurfers, for scaring many a child and grown man with your loud deep bark, your helicopter tail, for protecting us so fiercely. Thank you for making our lives so much richer with you in it. You are and always be such a big part of my life and my daughter\u2019s.<\/span>

There will never ever be another dog quite like you. Rest in peace my beautiful BFF. Sending your so many belly rubs and long walks along the beach. <\/span>

And thank you to Rodrigo for taking care of our Cheech - I know she meant the world to you too. We wouldn\u2019t know her if it wasn\u2019t for you \u2764\ufe0f<\/span>
